In 2014 Yosuzi rediscovered her Venezuelan roots and with her mother's help forged new relationships with the tribes of the Guajiro desert and their skilled artisans who traditionally hand weave hats known as "Woma".
Using a diagonal weaving technique unique to the tribe, the hats patterns and symbols represent the spiritual wisdom of Yosuzi's ancestors. The hats are made of 100% Iraka Palm straw and each one takes about eight hours to weave.
